At Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW), under the guidance of General Manager Shri Ashutosh Pant and the leadership of Principal Chief Medical Officer Dr. Devesh Kumar, Fire Safety Week is being observed at the Central Hospital from 4th May to 10th May 2026 to strengthen fire prevention and safety measures.

This year’s theme of Fire Safety Week is: “Safe Schools, Safe Hospitals, and an Aware Society for Fire Safety—Together for Fire Prevention.”

Under Fire Safety Week (4th to 10th May 2026), a training and awareness program was organized today, on 5th May 2026, at the Central Hospital by the Safety Department. 

 On this occasion employees were trained on the use of fire safety equipment, protection from hazardous smoke and gases, and strengthening loose electrical connections, among other fire safety measures. A live demonstration of fire extinguishers (PASS and RACE techniques) was also conducted during the training.

Additionally, a quiz competition based on fire safety and a prize distribution program were organized.

On this occasion, the Chief Guest, Senior Divisional Medical Officer and Gynecologist Dr. Madhulika Singh, Senior Divisional Medical Officer and Physician Dr. S. K. Maurya, along with Dr. Vishal Mishra, Dr. Tanmay Anand, and other doctors and hospital staff actively participated and gained practical knowledge of various fire-fighting measures.
